Bears "Threat Level" At All-Time Low

(December 27, 2011) --- After dropping several consecutive games, missing the play-offs and supplementing their income by selling cocaine... we are happy to inform the Packer public that the Chicago Bears "Threat Level" has been downgraded to "LAME."

How low can you go? Just remember: "Beaten Bears make good rugs."

Aside from being thugs, selling drugs and being complete losers... the NFL has already made plans to relocate the Chicago Bears to the league's new "Black & Blow" division. Commissioner Roger Goodell figures the Dallas Cowboys will be in good company.

The last time Chicago's "Threat Level" was this low was in 1998 when the Bears were 4-12 and Dave Wannstedt was coaching the team from the sidelines with a bag over his head.

By-the-way... Make plans to be at Central Florida Packer Backers' club headquarters at One Eyed Jack's in downtown Orlando this Sunday for the Packers' last regular season game and the party that kicks off Green Bay's post-season!

Because we know you'll be out whooping it up on New Year's Eve and the Packers play on New Years' Day afternoon, the CFPB club will help nurse you back to health with Bloody Mary specials at Tylenols for all of you hungover Packer Backers!

LAMBEAU LEAP SEATS

Congratulations to CFPB member Brian Wheat (#1795)! He and some lucky person are headed to the frozen tundra for some barley-pop, a fish fry, cheese curds and, oh yeah... to watch the Packers win while sitting in the "Lambeau Leap" seats he won from the CFPB club! Who knows, Brian might get to grab a Packer by the kiester!

CFPB member Brian Wheat (#1795) gets the thumbs-up from Head Cheese Mike Gottlieb (#110) after winning a pair of coveted "Lambeau Leap" seats this season from the club. After this picture was snapped, Brian wanted to know that if a Packer did leap into his seat, exactly how many pats-on-the-ass are allowed before it's considered sexual harassment.

Everytime Green Bay plays on Thanksgiving, the Central Florida Packer Backer family comes together for their own special feast. It always involves a good game, wonderful people and lots of tasty food! And you're invited! All we ask is that you bring a side-dish to share. (October 26, 2011) --- A lot of people have asked about longtime Central Florida Packer Backer member Joe Fick (#980), especially when getting into the weekly CFPB football pool. "Pool Joe," as he is affectionately known because he helps the club by running the club football pool, has been very ill of late and we wanted to let everyone know his condition.

Get well soon, Joe! There are lots of Central Florida Packer Backers waiting to give you their money! ; )

Joe is currently at Florida Hospital Orlando, the one near Orange Avenue and Princeton Street.

He's in the Intensive Care Unit with a rare inflammatory disorder. It's very serious but when caught in time often leads to a full recovery. Of course, everyone's kind thoughts and prayers can't hurt either.

We turned on our blinker and made a quick road-trip to the “Land of Stinkin” and brought back a giant garbage container from outside Soldier Field. Beware, there’ll be lots of discarded Bear crap in there but we’ve also added a couple-two-tree really nice Packer prizes to motivate everyone to take the plunge. Good luck, wear gloves, and for goodness-sake, hold your nose! Also remember, no pets, Flatlanders, FIBs or FISHTABS allowed.

Lambeau Ticket Drawing

Holy-cry-yiy! All wise CFPB members who got off their dupas and paid their 2011 membership dues by today will be entered in a drawing for a pair of tickets to see the Packers beat the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau! The game will be played on Sunday, December 11th, 2011. You must be present to win and if you do, “Go pack, (then) Go!” (Here’s the fine print. You actually have to be able to go to the game. If not, guldarn, we will re-draw. Tickets, like tattoos, are non-transferable.)

Packer Buck (#724) is smart and Packer Ann (#1484) is smarter. They always register to become CFPB members right smack-dab at the beginning of the season so they're eligible for all those great prizes the club gives away to members throughout the year, like those Lambeau Field tickets they once scored! Ann: "Buck, yeah!"

Apparently, Tommy golfs just like Tiger… minus the chicks! He made a humdinger of a putt and won four rounds of golf from Mystic Dunes Golf Resort.

(August 25, 2011) --- Every year, just before our Green Bay Packers play their first game of the season, hundreds of Packer Backers gather together to kick off the new NFL season with the annual "Packer Picnic." This year's event was held last Sunday, August 21st.

Along with all the great food and beverages, the 15th annual "Packer Picnic" featured several "sporting" events such as the traditional "Beer-Brat Speed Eating Contest," the "Titletown Toiletseat Toss" and everyone's favorite, "The Bear Punting Competition!"

Like every year, there was lots of tasty food available as well, including lots of yummy Johnsonville brats and plenty of Miller Lite too!

The "Packer Picnic" is hosted annually by the Central Florida Packer Backers.

Time to Get Your Brat On!

(August 5, 2011) --- Yes, for the 15th consecutive year, the Central Florida Packer Backers will mark the beginning of the football season with lots of brats, beans, and kicking a bear in da-butt. This year’s festivities is set for Sunday, August 21, 2011 starting at 11am.

Like years prior, the CFPB “Packer Picnic” will be held at Barnett Park (Pavilion #4) at 4801 West Colonial Drive in Orlando (next to the fairgrounds). Once you get into the park, just look for Bessie, the giant cow!

As usual, we’ll have plenty of free food, including Johnsonville brats, Chris’ wonderful German potato salad and even corn-on-the-cob! All we ask is that each member brings a quality dish to share. (And we ain't talkin' about a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model either... although it will be allowed!) And as always, we’re very fortunate to have the pros from Joe Mama's cater the party.

With events like the “Bear Punting Competition,” the “Titletown Toiletseat Toss” and, of course, the coveted “Beer & Brat Speed Eating Contest," you’d have to be a Bears fan to not have a good time. On top of that, we have a couple big surprises in store that will make you feel like a World Champion… well, because we are the World Champions!

"Whatever you do, don't Bogart my brat!"

How can you help? Have an extension cord? There’s a bunch of outlets for us to take advantage of. Got a fan? Bring ‘em if you got ‘em. (Incidentally, that’s why it’s always cool at Lambeau… there’s a fan in every seat!) And if you have one of those industrial fans like they sell at Home Depot, all the better! Aside from providing a tasty dish to share, if you can bring an extra bag of ice and/or an extra cooler, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you can help with set-up, assist with one of the events or anything else... please let us know.

First Packer Game is Coming Up Quick!

Don’t forget that the first regular season Packers' game is on a Thursday night (September 8th). Since this is the very first game of the year, we are going to have an awesome New (NFL) Year’s party, complete with party favors, a countdown to the start of the new season, and lots of FREE BEER! (Yes, you heard right... FREE BEER!)

You can watch every Green Bay game with all of your Packer Backer buds at Central Florida Packer Backer headquarters at One Eyed Jack's in downtown Orlando. And if you're a Bears fan, we have a 10" black & white TV with rabbit-ears in the back alley conveniently located right next to the dumpster.

To Catch a Predator... Game

(June 1, 2011) --- Hey dere fellow Cheeseheads! The CFPB guarantees there will be football this year! To prove it, how's about we go to an Orlando Predators game?

Because we know the owners of the team, the CFPB was able to obtaiin choice SUITE LEVEL tickets to the Preds vs the Georgia Force game at 7:30pm on SATURDAY, JUNE 25th at the Amway Center.

"Gimme a 'B'... Gimme an 'R'... Gimme an 'A'... Gimme a 'T'... and pass me the sauerkraut, dammit."

You will be shocked too, when you hear the price...just $20! No, really...only $20! And that includes a pre-game tailgate party just for us at the WaiTiki Lounge on Wall St. Plaza. Yes, all the usual fare you know and love from our Packer tailgate parties will be served at 4:30pm. After you've stuffed your face full of free brats, beans, potato salad, and bought yourself a couple-two-tree beers, it's a short walk to the game. Fun, or what?

Wear your finest Packers attire and we might even make it up on the JumboTron.

Here's what you have to do to be part of the fun:

1). Send us an email at CFPackerBackers@gmail.com so that we can get a head count of who wants to go to the game.

2). Mail us a list of who's going, a phone number of someone we can contact, and a check totaling $20 for each person made out to the Central Florida Packer Backers. (All requests must be received by JUNE 17th.)

(February 20, 2011) --- Yes, our Green Bay Packers are Super Bowl XLV Champions! And if you were one of the hundreds of fans who watched the game at Central Florida Packer Backer headquarters at the Wall Street Plaza, you know is was a party-and-a-half! Here's how it was celebrated in Orlando...

BEFORE: The Friday prior to Super Bowl XLV, the morning news anchors (Mike Dunston and Amy Kaufeldt) of the Orlando Fox affiliate WOFL-TV talked to a group of Pittsburgh Steelers fans in Orlando and then a few members of the 1,800 members strong Central Florida Packer Backers about what makes their team and club special.

DURING: Other than having tickets to a Packers game, One Eyed Jack's in the Wall Street Plaza is the best place to watch Green Bay play! Hundreds of Packers fans came to celebrate the team's 13th NFL Championship with a 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. This clip is from the moment the game ended and the Central Florida Packer Backer party continued into the night. It was kah-RAY-zeeee!!!

AFTER: Shortly after the Green Bay Packers won their 13th NFL Championship with a 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV, several members of the Central Florida Packer Backer club shouted, "We're going to DisneyWorld!" Turned out, Super Bowl MVP QB Aaron Rodgers had the same idea.

Thousands of Packers fans turned out the day after the Super Bowl on Monday, February 7, 2011 to welcome Aaron during a special parade that afternoon at DisneyWorld... include a few from the CFPB club in Orlando. Look for a few familiar faces from the CFPB club chanting "Go Pack go!"

Titletown to Undergo Super Bowl Make-Over

(January 7, 2011) --- As the little town of Green Bay, Wisconsin savors it's 13th NFL Championship following their 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV, Titletown city fathers already begun preparations for a nationally televised welcome-home parade and celebration. But instead of a few touch-ups, it was more like a face-lift.

Super Bowl Sunday at One Eyed Jack’s

(January 28, 2011) --- In case it hasn't sunk in yet, the Packers are in the Super Bowl! And the Central Florida Packer Backers are throwing a Super party for our members. Here’s what’s going on...

There will be a 16 foot, yes foot, TV outside at Wall Street plaza, along with some tasty beer, brats and fried cheese curds for sale before, during, and after the game. Be sure to get to Wall Street Plaza early to join in the party in the plaza!

The doors (One Eyed Jacks/The Loaded Hog) open at 4:30 for most people, but if you're a current card carrying 2010 CFPB member, we are opening the doors (One Eyed Jacks) at 4:15 so you get the super seats. The line to get-in will be at the doors of One Eyed Jacks. Members, once you get inside One Eyed Jacks, you will also get access to The Loaded Hog. To get in early YOU MUST SHOW YOUR CURRENT 2010 CFPB MEMBERSHIP CARD at the door and you will get a wristband. And, only members with wristbands will be eligible for the cool stuff.

Once you have the wristband, the party really starts. CFPB members will be able to tap into three half barrels of tasty FREE Miller Lite from 4:30 to 5:30, while it lasts. That's over 45 gallons of beer!

Then, whenever the Packers score, FREE shots of Packer Juice will be distributed to all CFPB members. Like the Packers, it's green and it's strong!

Miller Lite beer, Johnsonville brats and the Packers in the Super Bowl! It doesn't get any better than that! See you at One Eyed! By-the-way... "Don't bogart my brat!"

Again, this is only for 2010 CFPB MEMBERS ONLY. But don't worry, if you're not currently a member you can sign up starting at 3:00 at the CFPB tent outside in Wall Street Plaza. That way you get all the member benefits at the Super Bowl and a 2011 membership. If you lost your card and are a current member you will also need to go to the tent to verify membership, but you must do this early. NO EXCEPTIONS. Oh, in case you didn’t catch our disclaimer: NO EXCEPTIONS!

Chicago's Super Bawl

(January 25, 2011) --- Although our Packers advance to the Super Bowl, somehow Green Bay’s achievement was lost amid a huge Jay Cutler media backlash. Apparently in Chicago the saying “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” does not apply.

Fans turned on Cutler more hastily than a politician at an election-year fundraiser... faster than Linda Blair's head during an exorcism... quicker than a Vikings fan's loyalty after a loss.

In a post-game press conference, Cutler told the media he thinks that "something might have happened somewhere on his body sometime in the 2nd quarter" and decided it would be better for his team if he just sat-out the rest of the game on the sideline bench and pouted.

Pyszmowski, a 47-year-old resident of Chicago, claims to be the biggest Brian Urlacher fan in the Windy City and is the owner of the most comprehensive collection of Urlacher memorabilia in the entire state of Illinois.

Among his collection you’ll find hats, helmets, jerseys, t-shirts, programs, bobble-heads, boxer shorts, nose hairs, toe nail clippings, belly-button lint, a half-eaten salami sandwich, dental floss... all once belonging to Urlacher.

2010 was also the year Helen Thomas -- the veteran reporter who broke many of the stories on our best-of list -- retired after more than 50-years of writing for the PackerPage. Her decision to hang-it-up came after a few controversial comments where she claimed that FIB's needed to "get the hell out of Wisconsin" and return to Illinois.

(December 9, 2010) --- Following the success of the Packers’ throwback jerseys last week, the NFL announced today they plan to repeat the process for the last regular season game between the league's two oldest teams, but this time they plan to take the experience a couple of steps further.

Here's a nice vintage photograph from 1929 taken of a few Central Florida Backer Backer members at One Eyed Jack's Speakeasy huddled around the four-tube Crosley XJ TRF wireless listening intently to find out if Don Hutson and their Green Bay Packers stuck it to Gibby Welch and the Providence Steam Rollers to bring home the bacon and win the NFL Championship.

"To prepare for the ultimate throwback game featuring the Packers and Bears, we did a lot of research to truly replicate the atmosphere of professional football as it was played 90-years ago," announced NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Just days after the team's 27-13 loss to the Chicago Bears, Vikings teammates Jared Allen, Ryan Longwell and Steve Hutchinson took the day off from practice yesterday to visit Favre at his home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Last Week at One Eyed

Special thanks to the big crowd who braved the 80-degree weather and came out to watch the Pack beat the Favre out of the Vikings this past Sunday night. The Wahlen's came out big winners as Glen (#1069) won an Aaron Rodgers jersey for being cornhole champ (his name is now Sir Cornhole). Also, Glen’s wife Ruth (#1303) got in on the winning too as she picked up an awesome Packers coat. (And, yes, it actually is reversible!)

After being crowned Mr. Cornhole, Glen Wahlen didn't know whether to celebrate or take a shower.

The good news for everyone in attendance last Sunday to witnessed Glen's cornhole win, is that since the Packers game was on home TV, your membership numbers went in the Lambeau Leap Ticket Drawing twice... and that brings us to this Sunday... Sunday... SUNDAY!

(October 15, 2010) --- The origins of the game of cornhole trace back to 18th century America when sailors from the shipbuilding port of Green Bay would sail out of the St. Lawrence Seaway, down the Atlantic coastline to Cuba to trade beer and bratwurst for rum and cigars. While passing the Eastern tip of Florida, sailors would pass the time by feeding left-over corn-pies to the killer dolphins near Miami. But when an errant tossed corn-pie accidentally tossed into a dolphin’s blowhole, that scurvy sailor was forced to take a big swig from a bottle of rum. Over the many centuries, the seaward activity has evolved into the land-lubber game we all know today.

A popular homemade Midwest tailgate game, the CFPB version of cornhole will give you a chance to stick-it to a certain Viking blow-hole.

(October 13, 2010) --- Apparently, several news outlets are issuing stories that the NFL is reviewing allegations that flirty audio clips and racy pictures were sent by Favre to sports reporter Jenn Sterger when both were employed by the New York Jets two seasons ago. (September 27, 2010) --- Flying toilet seats, bear abuse and a bigass cow. No, it wasn’t a new Georgia based television reality show… instead it was the Central Florida Packer Backer “Packer Picnic!” Last August about 200 Packer-faithful showed up (in the shadow of a giant-sized inflatable cow) at Barnett Park in Orlando to catch up after a long off-season, enjoy all the tasty free food such as brats, beans, potato salad, and to also take part in a few of our interactive sporting events.

Here's a nice photo of the "Beer & Brat Speed Eating Contest," one of the more popular events held at the CFPB club picnic. Contestants must first consume a Johnsonville brat and bun and then wash it down with a 12-ounce Miller Lite. The prize is awarded to the person who finishes first withour requiring the Heimlich Maneuver.

Although the picnic was well over a month ago, we finally got some of the pictures developed from that digital camera we used that day. Not only will you find photos from this years CFPB picnic on the club's Facebook site, but tons of other pics from club events over the past couple of decades.

The Grass Really IS Greener On The Other Side

(September 22, 2010) --- Last February the Minnesota Vikings were just one-win away from blowing their fifth Super Bowl. But right now it looks as though the people in purple are worried they’ll spend the rest of the 2010 football season sniffing Lion butt. And that's not sitting well in Minnesota.

Here's a nice picture of Vikings' quarterback Brett Favre sensing an oncoming choking feeling. Regardless, Favre is proud of the fact that he was able to effectively spread the ball out to a number of different receivers last week, even if they happen to play for the opposing team.

The state is best known for its 10,000 Lakes, grumpy old men, and the largest percentage of NFL bandwagon fans in the country. That wagon was filled past capacity when Brett Favre took the Twin Cities team to the playoffs last year, but after losing their second straight game last Sunday, local support for the Vikings dropped faster than hooker's knickers on Hennepin Avenue on a Saturday night. In fact it's gotten so bad the city fathers have stepped in to quell the panic, impede citizens from defecting, and prevent a possible statewide economic meltdown.

Immediately following the team's embarrassing 10-14 home loss to the Miami Dolphins last weekend, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty mobilized the National Guard in an attempt to keep fans from jumping off of the Vikings bandwagon. In a government move reminiscent of FDR's temporary bank shut-down to stall financial panic during the Great Depression, Pawlenty ordered all sporting good and department stores in the state to close their doors until further notice to prevent panicked "fans" from returning their recently purchased Favre and Adrian Peterson jerseys. Pawlenty feared refunds on a massive scale could make the recession in the state worse than it already is. "This is only a temporary measure," announced the governor. "The 'Sports Store Holiday' will only stay in effect until the Vikings move above the .500 mark... or until the Twins are deep into the playoffs, which ever comes first. And remember; the only thing we have to fear is, fear itself... and Favre's arm."

Why do the Minnesota Vikings have purple uniforms? Team historians say they wanted a color that would best match their faces whenever they started to choke.

The Vikings now find themselves at 0-2, and panic is already beginning to set in. That's because Vikings fans understand the cold, hard facts:

-Over the past 20-years, only 13-percent of teams that start off with two-losses have found their way into the playoffs.

-Since 1967, just two-percent of NFL squads who wear purple* have taken home a Vince Lombardi trophy. (*That would be Baltimore, buddy.)

-Brad Childress is your head coach.

-You have a grandpa taking snaps.

-You’re the Minnesota Vikings. Check your Super Bowl history.

After a very embarrassing start to the 2010 season, Vikings fans are doing more than just trying to get out of their Favre jerseys... some are trying to get out of the state.

Defections have been on the rise in Minnesota, so much so that Wisconsin legislators are considering approving a plan to build a border-wall to mitigate the flow of illegal Minnesotans from sneaking into the Badger State. According to Wisconsin state representative David Obey, this is the biggest border crossing problem he's seen since Minnesota first forced "that crappy watered-down ‘three-two’ beer on its residents."

Despite the sudden influx of aliens from the west, there are Cheeseheads that are somewhat sympathetic to the sudden influx of illegal immigrants; most saying they understand the lure of living in God's Country, the charm of cheese and the pride associated with being a Green Bay Packers fan. But some say if Minnesotans are serious about sneaking into Wisconsin, they should do their best to assimilate. "If you're gonna live here in America's Dairyland," stated Hank Bricko, a lifelong Hatley resident, "You should at least get to know the language and learn to speak 'Sconsin."

Here's a nice picture of the Wisconsin State ICE (Illegal Cheesehead Enforcement) Unit arresting an illegal Minnesotan shortly after he swam across the Mississippi River. He was apprehended outside of Buffalo Wild Wings in Hudson as he was attempting to catch the second half of last Sunday's Packers-Bills game.

But apparently it’s more than just swimming from Stillwater to Hudson to escape the Vikings, jucy lucy’s and Garrison Keillor. The PackerPage has recently uncovered news that there has been a substantial increase in the number of Minnesota women who have purposely crossed the border for the sole reason of giving birth in a Wisconsin hospital. That’s because they know you don’t just become a Packers fan, in Wisconsin you are born a Packers fan. This point was proven when state hospitals noted a substantial increase in newborn horn circumcisions.

In related news, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism announced their new marketing slogan for welcoming visitors entering the state from the south... "Don’t Illinois Me."

Thanks to everyone for the great turnout at the tailgate and Happy New (NFL) Year's party last Sunday. Youse guys showed why the CFPB club is the biggest and best Packer Club in the known universe. As everyone knows, cheap beer tastes good, free beer tastes best! Make sure to keep checking this site every once and awhile for club info and cool pictures... and if you have any to share, send 'em!

We also have a couple thing to yell you about!

THING 1: The CFPB club is trying to plan a "Cheeseheads in Paradise" beach get-together in Cocoa Beach on September 25th, 2010. The Pack doesn't play the dirty cheatin' Bears till Monday night sooooo... we figured some fun in the sun would be a nice break. Sure, it's kind of last-minute, but sometimes that's the most fun. Just like a last-second touchdown!

The CFPB beach party will be near the Cocoa Beach Pier. The club will have a giant cooler full of free Miller Lites, soft drinks, and water on the beach. Nothin' like a drink in your hand, and your toes in the sand!Can't do that in Rhinelander in September!

If you'd like to stay at the beach with all of your Packer pals, the club can get you rooms at the Best Western Cocoa Beach (5600 North Atlantic Avenue) for $79.00 for Saturday night (and you get breakfast). The best part is that the hotel is next to the Cocoa Beach Pier, so no driving!

The Central Florida Packer Backer "Beach Party" has been approved by the Packer Bikini Girls.

But this mini Packer vacation will only happen if we get enough people to let us know they will be going. So, if you'd like to join the party at the beach (whether it's just for the afternoon or overnight), you must first e-mail Packer Brian at briano@c-p.com and let him know how many are coming and we will let you know if it's gonna happen. But again, keep in mind that it all depends on how many people are interested in going, so this is still tentative... but remember, we need your RSVP no later than game-time this Sunday, September 19th. Now go find your swimsuit!

THING 2: As a reward to all who have a current 2010 CFPB membership card, all members will be eligible to win a pair of Lambeau Field game tickets, thanks to longtime CFPB member Packer Todd (#128). And this year the winner will have a choice to pick one of three Packers home games to attend! What's the catch, you ask? Hardly any. You must be a 2010 CFPB member, you must be present to win and the ticket are not transferrable. The drawing will be held this Sunday at One Eyed Jack's during the Bills-Packers game.

In addition to all the great Packers prizes the club will be giving away, it's also Brew Crew Hullabaloo Day with some awesome and purt'neer impossible-to-find Milwaukee Brewers collectibles. Is this a great club, or what?

To celebrate the start of the 24th season of the Central Florida Packer Backers we're starting with a bang... literally. 'Opening day' is this Sunday, Sept 12th at One Eyed Jack's at the Wall Street Plaza in heart of downtown Orlando.

Free food, free beer, great friends and the Green Bay Packers. What else do you need?

The Green Bay-Philadelphia game may start at 4:15pm, but we're cranking it up at 1:00pm with a CFPB tailgate at the WaiTiki at the opposite end of Wall Street Plaza. Along with all the tasty Wisconsin-style food that made our tailgates legendary, we are going to have... drum roll please.... FREE BEER (while it lasts for all CFPB members)! Yes, our friends at Miller made a half-barrel with our name on it to kick off the New (NFL) Year's celebration. It's a wonderful way to wash those yummy brats and Potato Salad Chris' famous German potato salad down! Mmmm... kinda makes your cholesterol go up just thinkin' about it! (BTW... FYI: alcohol cuts grease.)

After we feed our faces, it's game time at One Eyed Jack's, with, you guessed it, more... another drum roll... FREE BEER (while it lasts for CFPB members)! What would a New Year's party be without party favors? Well, it'd be like a trip to the Vikings Super Bowl trophy case...pretty empty. There will be party hats and noisemakers... and at kickoff, the big bang! (Hold your ears folks, its showtime!)

Pardon this pause... don't be pensive, profane, petty, pitiful, peculiar, peevish, preposterous, phony, penurious, perplexed, pigheaded, perturbed, perverse or pathetic. That would make you a Cowboys fan, or perhaps even take you down to Bears fan level...yeesh. But please partake in these helpful hints to pace yourself so you'll have a plethora of pleasant Packer days at Central Florida Packer Backers headquaerters at One Eyed Jack's in downtown Orlando.

1. If you can, come early to the tailgate to renew or sign up for a membership. That way you (and the people working) won't miss much of the game. If you've ever been to previous year's opening days, you know how busy it can be. Plus you get free beer! (Incidentally, did you ever notice that free beer tastes the best?)

2. Doors open one-hour before game time at One Eyed Jack's. When every seat in One Eyed Jack's in filled, do not fret. The two adjacent bars... Wall Street Cantina and The Loaded Hog will also be open to for all of our Packer pals... and each and every TV will be showing the Packers game.

3. If you have to, or are going to, renew or sign up for your CFPB club membership, your membership card will be available for you to pick up starting from the beginning of the pre-game tailgate party this Sunday throughout the the 2010 season. You can stop by the front table to pick up your membership card at any time. Please note that it is important that you keep your membership card in your wallets and purses, and bring it with you every time you come to watch a game with us. If your membership number is pulled for a prize, we will be asking to see proof that you are a club member. We have been horn-swaggled by a few Cowboys, Vikings and Bears fans this past season. This is your club and we don't want to see any freakin' interlopers, don't-cha-know! (Dirty cheatin' Bears. Yeesh.)

4. When you sign-up or renew your CFPB club membership, we will provide you (on September 12th only at One Eyed Jack's) with your free Miller Lite beer mug that can be used throughout the 2010 Packer season for refills that will save you some bucks. (FYI: there is a limited supply of mugs. When they run out, they run out. Also, keep track of your mug. If you leave the mug at the bar, it's most likely going to be a piece of Packer history. Take care of your mug and your mug will take care of you.)

5. There are many options when it comes to parking in downtown Orlando, but no matter where you choose to park, please read the posted signage around you. The City of Orlando offer free on-street parking during holidays and hours listed below. Parking is free after 6pm Monday thru Saturday, free all day on Sundays, and you can also park under I-4 free on Sundays. If you would prefer to pay and park in a garage, you have plenty of choices

Finally, the CFPB club would like to send out a big thank to all who turned out in supporting our fellow Packer Backer Dana Paucek (#1161) on Saturday August 28th at the AMF Altamonte Bowling Lanes. It was great to see Dana on-the-road to recovery and we can't wait for him to be able to come back to join us at One Eyed Jacks! The smile on his face said it all!

It's Packer Picnic Time!

(August 5, 2010) --- Hey there Cheesers and Cheesettes!

Yeah, Brett retired or didn't retire, blah blah blah...but here's something you KNOW is going to happen!

The annual Central Florida Packer Backer Picnic will start at 12:00 this SATURDAY, not Sunday. And just go to the same location as last year, Barnett Park Pavillion #4 . (look for the giant cow...moo!)

For those of you who do not know where Barnett park is... it's on Colonial Drive (Hwy 50) behind the Fairgrounds.

Come hungry, as we will have some of the best pic-a-nic food this side of Sheboygan!

Here's a few picnic tips you can help with...

-We will have the brats, corn on the cob, Potato Salad Chris' famous German potato salad, Joe Mama's pulled pork (no pun intended) chips and coleslaw. The tasty side dishes are up to YOU! Be creative, we don't need all potato chips and cookies!!

-BYOB! There will be plenty of soft drinks and water to drink, but if you want a couple-two-tree beers bring your own. We have tons of the red cups to put 'em in.

-Odds are its gonna be warmer than Rhinelander out so if you have a big fan (and extension cords) it can't hurt to bring 'em. Also, if you have one of those 8' square pop-up cabanas... bring that too. The more shade, less sweat... the less chance of smelling like someone stepped in a Bear!

-If you want to volunteer to help with purt'neer anything let us know...we can always use a hand!

And there will be a Post Packer Picnic too! So for those true Wisconsin party animals, be sure to bring your swimming suit as there will be a POOL PARTY at Larry's house after the picnic! Larry will have the picnic leftovers at his awesome backyard tiki bar..and a very cool pool. Sounds pretty good, huh? So save a few beers in your cooler and come on over after the picnic. Again, BYOB!

Once a year, the Central Florida Packer Backer club and its members gather together to support a great cause... and have some fun at the same time! We're hoping you'll join us for the "MS Walk 2010."

WHEN: Saturday March 20th, 2010. Registration starts at 8:00am. Walk starts at 9am and lasts about 1.5 hours (followed by a picnic at Packer Dennis & Meredy’s home).

Here's all you have to do:

ONE: Wear your favorite Green Bay Packers shirt so everyone knows you are part of the CFPB group.

TWO: Meet all of us at the northeast corner of Lake Eola (across from Panera Bread: corner of Robinson Street & N. Eola Drive) around 8:00am. Every year, local businesses help supply all participants with a generous amount of free food, snacks & drinks.

THREE: Bring a donation of any amount (ask for Meredy or Dennis Jenkins / Packer Backers) to help make a difference in the lives of those with Multiple Sclerosis. You can also pledge as much as you think you can raise and mail those donation directly to the MS Society at a later date.

FOUR: Walk begins at 9am! You can choose to walk the ‘short’ route (1 mile) the ‘long’ route (2.3 miles).

FIVE: Then we party! Beer, brats and potato salad to follow at around noon at the Jenkins' residence. (Directions will be distributed at the end of the walk.)

Cheesy smiles to match their head-wear. Besides, everyone knows that wearing your cheese hat while you walk for MS makes your trek aerodynamically smoother and faster!

BONUS: The Central FL Packer Backer club would really love for you to come and join… so, we are going to be giving CFPB participants some free stuff too. We will be giving out: Free MP3 retractable-cord headsets (while they last), free Packer water bottles (while they last), AND… to whomever raises the most donations we will be giving you a $75 Green Bay Packer baseball style jersey! (October 10, 2009) --- A couple of weeks ago Packer Brian (#777), (one of our CFPB head-cheeses), invited artist, illustrator and journalist Thomas Thorspecken to stop by our clubhouse to check out our very animated group of Packer Backers at One Eyed Jack's in downtown Orlando. Brian had heard of Thorspecken's work through his on-line blogsite and was so impressed he invited (translation: bribed him with beer) the talented artist to check out our club and hopefully put us to paint. Well he did... and after a couple Miller Lites and using up all of his green and gold colors, Thomas came up with something very frameable.

Just a few of the Picasso Pusses in the Central Florida Packer Backers club that were captured by Mr. Thornspecken's brush.

You see, since the beginning of this year, Thorspecken has been posting an impressive sketch-a-day on his website documenting the people and culture of the city of Orlando. And since he actually did stop by (during the Packers-Bengals game on September 20th) to sketch the friendly beer-swilling green-and-gold-wearing polka-party-people of the Central Florida Packer Backers, I just guess that means we have culture too! Now that's good to know!

And hey, Picasso puss... look closely at his very colorful CFPB sketch! You never know... he just may have accidentally sketched your fugly mugly! So when you have a moment, please check out Mr. Thorspecken's blogsite, it really is pretty cool... and leave a nice comment if you wish.

Greene Picks Pack (and Nose)

(September 10, 2009) --- Did you hear the news? Jerry Greene picked the Pack to win the Super Bowl this season.

Okay, someone call a doctor... or maybe buy the big-guy a drink. Did the veteran Orlando Sentinel sports writer consume one too many Johnsonvilles? Did he accidentally bump his head while trying to retrieve a fallen nacho-cheese chip from under his kitchen table? Has Nostradumbass finally come to his senses... or is he just messing with us again?

As many Packer Backers know, Jerry Greene has made a living dissing the Pack since the days when head coach Bart Starr banished the journalist from Lambeau (ah... long involved story supposedly involving Bart, bras and a brat). So when Greene recently predicted the 2009 Packers would finish on top of their division, end the season with the best record in the NFC and win Super Bowl XLIV... hundreds of Central Florida Packer Backers suddenly became very worried.

That’s because over the past dozen or so years, whenever Jerry would pick the Pack to lose, they would often win... and those days when he predicted Green Bay would pick up a “W,” they would somehow find a way to drop the game. That’s why CFPB members now consider a Jerry Greene endorsement “bad luck” to the point most superstitious Packer Backers would pray he would go against Green Bay each and every week.

U.S. congressman Joe Wilson shocked many across the country Wednesday night when he shouted, “You lie!” after reading Jerry Greene’s Carolina Panthers prognostications for the upcoming NFL season.

After Greene’s predictions were first broadcast earlier this week (on ESPN Radio 1080 'The Team' with Marc Daniels) foretelling that Green Bay would win Super Bowl XLIV, the Central Florida Packer Backer club in Orlando wasted little time publishing their own press release regarding the matter:

“We the people of the Central Florida Packer Backers do not endorse any opinions, comments and/or predictions that Mr. Jerry Greene has made related to our beloved team, the Green Bay Packers. With the release of Jerry Greene’s comments, we feel that it is prudent to rebuke his predictions in order to insure the success of the Packers 2009 season. Mr. Greene’s predictions will not assure him re-entry into Lambeau Field. We implore Mr. Greene to reconsider his predictions. GO PACK! (…and the Bears Still Suck!)”

(July 26, 2009) --- Despite one of those typical 20-minute summer thunderstorms that moved through while the Johnsonvilles were being served, the 13th annual CFPB "Packer Picnic" was a hoot-and-a-half!

After going through about 6-months of NFL withdrawal, a couple hundred area Green Bay football fans were happy to dig-out their favorite Packer t-shirt and join all of their Packer Pals at Orlando's Barnett Park for the club's yearly outdoor hob-nob featuring a picnic-table full of brats, potato salad, corn-on-the-cob, rum cake, watermelon, pork and beans, beef jerky, salty nuts, foot-long weiners, spamburgers, cheese curds, pigs in a blanket, kumquats, head cheese, cling peaches, ho-ho's, quackerdillas, spigally, deviled legs, porn bread, pickled figs peet and deep fried sticks of butter.

There were also lots of traditional, interactive Wisconsin-styled Olympic games like the annual "Beer-Brat Speed Eating Contest," "The Bear Punting Competition" and the "Titletown Toiletseat Toss." Between stuffing their faces and kicking the stuffing out of a Bear, the "Packer Picnic" is considered the social event of the year giving Florida Green Bay fans a chance to catch-up with old friends, make new ones, talk about the upcoming NFL season, and think of new ways of dissing that team in Black & Boo.
